I find it odd that the liberals keep talking about 'our' responsiblities
to the greater good and society, yet skip right over the responsibilies
of the 'needy' to change their behavior to place less of a burden upon
that same society.

Like AC, I grew up poor. My dad came back from WW II with little but
his life and started carving out a living in rural Missouri. He always
worked hard (not necessarily 'smart') and we survived. Never really
hungry, and we had a roof over our heads.

Not one dime of public assistance.

Anyone who shows up for work every day and does their job has my
respect. I tape a Christmas card (with a small gift) on my trash
can every year. Those guys work hard and don't get a lot of respect
(kind of like dentists <G>).
